I re-read this book recently. Cyrinda is the blonde girl in the Jean Genie video (she also had an affair with David Bowie) - she also starred in a couple of Warhol things and was part of the early 70s scene in New York. Saw Beautiful Darling, the documentary about Candy Darling (Warhol superstar) - I thought it was very good & I really liked it altho it is quite short, just under 90 mins, & there aren't any extras on the DVD apart from the trailer. So far it's only been released on Region 1 DVD so it was quite expensive but hopefully they'll do a Region 2 release ( Read more... )

I also watched that DVD, The Sacred Triangle which is a documentary about the friendships/creative collaboration between Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Lou Reed esp in the early 70s. It didn't feature them (well, apart from a lot of archive footage) but it did interview quite a few people who were around back then like Angie Bowie, Jayne County, Leee ( Read more... )

I finished reading Cherry Vanilla's autobiography, Lick Me. Altho she's perhaps best known as a groupie (and is quite unashamed about her exploits) there's also a lot more to her - she was a successful ad executive in 60s New York before starring in underground plays like Pork/hanging out with Warhol and Jayne County and becoming David Bowie's ( Read more... )
